This summary highlights the urgent process. The complete Policy below provides the requirements and limits.
- If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. UniSphere is not an emergency service.
- A depicted person or authorized representative may request removal of a nonconsensual intimate image or sexualized digital forgery, even without a UniSphere account.
- UniSphere will remove a qualifying depiction and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies as soon as possible and no later than 48 wall-clock hours after receiving a valid request.
- Do not download, forward, or attach suspected child sexual abuse material. Report its location without redistributing it.
- Ordinary harassment, spam, impersonation, privacy, and conduct concerns should use the in-app reporting tools; the 48-hour deadline applies only to qualifying intimate-image requests.
Purpose and scope
UniSphere is operated by Unisphere Connect LLC (the "Operator," "we," "us," or "our"). This Safety and Takedown Policy (the "Policy") explains urgent reporting and removal procedures for serious safety risks on the UniSphere websites, application, communications, and related services (the "Service"). It focuses on nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, sexualized digital forgeries, child sexual exploitation, credible threats, and other matters that may require rapid restriction, preservation, or referral.
The Community Guidelines govern broader conduct, the Copyright Policy governs copyright notices and counter-notices, and the Privacy Policy explains how report information and evidence are handled. The Terms of Service also apply. This Policy controls for the dedicated intimate-image removal process described below.
This Policy cannot remove material from another website, device, search engine, private copy, or service that UniSphere does not control. Report the material separately to each service where it appears and consider seeking legal or professional support.
Emergency warning
UniSphere is not an emergency service. The safety inbox, reporting tools, and moderation queue are not continuously monitored and cannot dispatch help. If you or another person faces immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. If it is safe to do so, preserve only lawful, non-exploitative information that can help responders locate the person or incident.
Highest-priority safety concerns
- Nonconsensual intimate depictions. Real photos or videos showing an identifiable person in intimate circumstances when the person did not consent to publication.
- Sexualized digital forgeries. Images or videos created or altered using software, applications, artificial intelligence, or other means to falsely depict an identifiable person in intimate circumstances.
- Child sexual exploitation. Apparent child sexual abuse material, grooming, enticement, sextortion, trafficking, requests for sexual content involving a minor, or other sexual exploitation of a person under 18.
- Credible threats and stalking. Threats of violence, targeted intimidation, stalking, doxxing, or disclosures that create a credible risk of physical harm.
- Coercion and extortion. Threats to publish intimate or private material, demands for money or conduct to prevent publication, or exploitation of a person's vulnerability.
Key terms for intimate-image requests
- Identifiable person. A person who can reasonably be identified from the depiction itself or information displayed with it.
- Intimate visual depiction. A visual depiction covered by applicable law that shows nudity, sexually explicit conduct, or other qualifying intimate content.
- Consent to publication. Permission to publish the particular depiction in the manner at issue. Consent to create or privately share a depiction does not by itself mean consent to publish it through UniSphere.
- Authorized representative. A person authorized by the depicted person to submit the request, or another person authorized by applicable law to act for that person.
- Known identical copy. A copy UniSphere identifies as identical to the reported depiction through information or reasonable technical measures available to UniSphere.
A person does not need a UniSphere account to submit a qualifying removal request. UniSphere may request limited information reasonably necessary to verify that the requester is the depicted person or is authorized to act, but will not require unnecessary sensitive information.
How to submit an urgent intimate-image removal request
Email support@unisphereconnect.com with the subject line "URGENT IMAGE REMOVAL." Submit one request for each unrelated matter. The request must be in writing and include all of the following:
- Signature. The physical or electronic signature of the depicted person or an authorized representative.
- Identification and location. Identification of the intimate visual depiction and information reasonably sufficient for UniSphere to locate it, such as the exact page address, project, profile, message, update, Member handle, date, or screenshot that does not unnecessarily redistribute the image.
- Identity or authority. A statement that you are the identifiable person shown in the depiction or are authorized to act for that person.
- Lack of consent. A brief statement that you have a good-faith belief the identified depiction was published without the depicted person's consent, including relevant information that can help UniSphere evaluate the request.
- Contact information. An email address or other information sufficient for UniSphere to contact the depicted person or authorized representative about the request.
- Requested action. A clear request that UniSphere remove the identified depiction.
Do not attach, download, copy, or forward suspected child sexual abuse material or any illegal image. Identify where it appears without redistributing it. For adult intimate content, provide the smallest lawful screenshot or description needed to locate the material; a direct location is preferable.
If the request is incomplete
UniSphere records the time an initial request is received and will not restart the clock for immaterial clarification. If the request provides enough information to identify and locate the depiction, identify the depicted person or authorized representative, and state the lack of consent and requested removal in good faith, UniSphere will act without waiting for optional detail. UniSphere may ask for information that is genuinely necessary to locate the depiction, confirm identity or authority, or understand the lack of consent, and may temporarily restrict material while seeking that clarification. The 48-hour legal deadline applies to a valid request, but UniSphere will remove or restrict first when reasonably possible rather than using minor incompleteness to delay protection.
A requester should not send government identification unless UniSphere specifically explains why a limited form of verification is reasonably necessary and how it will be handled. UniSphere will never require payment to submit or process a safety request.
UniSphere's response to a valid request
Upon receiving a valid request from the depicted person or an authorized representative, UniSphere will, as soon as possible and no later than 48 wall-clock hours after receipt:
- Remove or disable access to the identified intimate visual depiction on the Service.
- Make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies of the depiction on the Service.
UniSphere will assign a request reference and will tell the requester whether the reported material was removed or, if not, the general reason further action was not taken. UniSphere may remove content more quickly, temporarily restrict it during review, or take broader account action when safety or law warrants.
Reasonable identical-copy efforts can include searching identifiers and locations connected to the report, comparing known copies, and using available hashing or matching tools consistent with law, privacy, security, and technical capability. This obligation concerns known identical copies; it does not promise that UniSphere can find every altered, cropped, re-encoded, newly uploaded, or externally hosted version.
UniSphere may preserve a restricted evidentiary copy and relevant account, report, and technical records when reasonably necessary for legal reporting, safety, appeals, fraud prevention, or law enforcement. Preserved material is not available through ordinary Member access and is handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Notice to the uploader and good-faith removal
UniSphere may notify the Member who posted or transmitted removed material and provide a general reason, unless notice could endanger someone, reveal private information, compromise an investigation, enable retaliation, violate law or legal process, or undermine security. UniSphere may limit the information disclosed about the requester.
UniSphere may remove or restrict material in good faith when the report and available facts reasonably indicate it may be a nonconsensual intimate depiction, a sexualized digital forgery, child sexual exploitation, or another serious violation. Removal does not declare that a person committed a crime or finally determine consent, authenticity, ownership, or legal liability.
Child sexual exploitation and abuse
UniSphere prohibits content or conduct involving child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, grooming, enticement, sextortion, or trafficking of a person under 18. Although UniSphere accounts are limited to adults, prohibited material can still depict or target a minor.
- Do not open, download, save, screenshot, forward, email, or otherwise reproduce suspected child sexual abuse material to make a report.
- Use the in-app report on the message, profile, project, or update when available, or email support@unisphereconnect.com with the location and account information only.
- Members of the public may report suspected online child sexual exploitation directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
- For images or videos taken before the depicted person turned 18, the NCMEC Take It Down service at TakeItDown.ncmec.org may help participating platforms detect copies without requiring the image to be uploaded to NCMEC.
- If a child faces immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.
When UniSphere obtains actual knowledge of facts or circumstances that trigger a reporting duty, UniSphere will make required reports to NCMEC's CyberTipline as soon as reasonably possible and preserve or disclose qualifying material only as authorized or required by law. UniSphere may also restrict accounts, preserve evidence, and notify law enforcement where permitted and appropriate.
Adult intimate-image support resources
An adult may consider StopNCII.org, a free tool operated by an independent organization that can create a hash on the person's device for sharing with participating platforms. UniSphere does not operate or guarantee that service. A requester may also report a covered platform's failure to comply with federal removal obligations to the Federal Trade Commission at TakeItDown.ftc.gov.
Using an outside resource is optional and does not replace a direct request to UniSphere. Do not upload an image to a service unless you understand how that service works and are comfortable with its privacy practices.
Other safety and conduct reports
Use the in-app reporting control when available for harassment, hate, threats, stalking, impersonation, scams, spam, privacy violations, academic misconduct, dangerous activity, or other Community Guidelines concerns. If the in-app control is unavailable, contact support@unisphereconnect.com with the affected account, content location, date, and concise description.
The 48-hour removal deadline in this Policy applies to a valid qualifying request involving a nonconsensual intimate visual depiction. It does not create a 48-hour guarantee for every report, appeal, account dispute, copyright claim, or off-platform concern. UniSphere will prioritize matters based on severity, credibility, immediacy, target vulnerability, and available information.
Reports must be submitted in good faith. Do not fabricate evidence, impersonate a depicted person, make a knowingly false claim of nonconsent, coordinate abusive reporting, or use a safety request to retaliate, discover private information, or suppress lawful content. Abuse can result in rejection, account action, preservation, and legal referral.
Safety actions and enforcement
In addition to removing content, UniSphere may reduce visibility; block uploads; redact a message; restrict messaging, discovery, or project administration; close a project; suspend or terminate an account; prevent account recreation; preserve evidence; notify a service provider or school when legally permitted and reasonably necessary; or refer apparent crimes, exploitation, threats, or emergencies to appropriate authorities.
UniSphere is not required to monitor every interaction. Automated or technical signals can support review but do not replace context. UniSphere may act without advance notice when necessary to reduce harm, comply with law, preserve evidence, or protect an investigation.
Appeals and review
Appeal by an affected Member
A Member whose content or account was restricted may appeal to support@unisphereconnect.com within 30 days after notice. Include the decision or report reference, the removed material or account, the specific outcome challenged, and a concise explanation with relevant new information. For intimate depictions, an appeal should explain the claimed mistake, misidentification, authorization, or other lawful basis without redistributing the material.
Do not reupload or retransmit removed material while an appeal is pending. An appeal does not automatically restore content or pause an account restriction. UniSphere may affirm, modify, or reverse the decision and may keep material restricted when safety, law, privacy, another policy, or technical limitations independently support that result.
Review requested by a depicted person
A depicted person or authorized representative may ask support@unisphereconnect.com to review a decision not to remove material or to investigate a reappearance. Include the original reference and any missing location or consent information. UniSphere will not require the person to resubmit an image when the existing record is sufficient.
UniSphere may limit repeat, fraudulent, abusive, or substantially identical appeals. UniSphere will not use an appeal to expose a requester's private information or facilitate contact or retaliation.
Privacy, confidentiality, and records
Safety reports can contain sensitive information. UniSphere limits access to personnel and service providers who need the information for review, protection, legal compliance, system security, or support. UniSphere may disclose information to NCMEC, emergency services, law enforcement, courts, service providers, schools, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary and legally permitted to protect safety and rights.
UniSphere may retain ordinary safety reports and restricted evidence for two years after closure. Serious exploitation, credible threats, repeat abuse, legal holds, NCMEC reports, law-enforcement preservation requests, and enforcement records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary and proportionate or as law requires. A deleted account does not require deletion of restricted evidence needed for these purposes.
A participating school does not automatically receive a report or access to safety records. UniSphere may contact a school when the Member asks, a separate relationship authorizes it, disclosure is required by law, or UniSphere reasonably believes disclosure is necessary and legally permitted to address a serious risk.
Law enforcement and official requests
Government and law-enforcement requests should be sent to legal@unisphereconnect.com and must identify the agency, official, legal authority, requested records, account or content, and response deadline. UniSphere may authenticate, narrow, challenge, preserve, or respond to a request as permitted or required by law. Emergency requests should clearly identify the imminent danger and information sought; officials should also use established emergency channels where available.
Members should not impersonate law enforcement or submit private legal demands through the safety process. Civil subpoenas, preservation requests, and court orders must use the legal channel.
Changes to this Policy
UniSphere may update this Policy as the Service, safety practices, and law change. For a material change, UniSphere will provide reasonable advance notice, ordinarily at least 30 days, unless a faster change is reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or to prevent abuse. A request is ordinarily handled under the process in effect when received, unless law requires otherwise.
